Looks good mate, can you post a pic of the driver (with dimensions) you made to smack the old bushes out? I have to replace mine soon, so I'd appreciate it. Cheers, Terry.

Not much to it, just 1/2" steel bar with 3/4" collar welded on it. I put the collar on the bushing and went around hammering it and the bushing moved slowly out.

Drained the oil, changed filter and realized the drain bolt thread is stripped.

The bike came to me with oil drain hole welded shut and I drilled and tapped it to 5/16 thread which was now spinning not free but close enough.

Took the pan off and this time made it M10x1.25, squared and cleaned the sealing surface and found new copper washer. Hopefully it's gonna last now. Of course I had to drop headers to get the pan off.

With the dry sump I could actually run it without the drain hole, there is never that much oil in the pan to drain.

Took her for a quick spin, she pulled solid 1.1 ton in 4th gear when I eased off, she has more balls than I do.

M10 x 1.25 is the standard drain hole size mate, so it should be fine. I wonder why the PO welded it up in the first place? It's definitely worthwhile having a "sump plug" even in a dry sump, I still get over a litre of oil drain out when I dump mine. Cheers, Terry.

20C on Saturday, took her for a spin and limped home on two cylinders

Cleaned up idle jets, fuel valve bowl, still the same.

Next step was to check on spark plugs and cables, spark plugs were due for replacement, but the real issue was in cables. That said I am starting to see the advantage of the old style coils with integrated cables. The problem was cable to coil on #3 and #4. I may come up with some better grommet for the plastic finger not to prevent it in the future.

Anyway she is back in shape, the idle drop from 1200 or so to 1000 - not sure if the new plugs (gapped at 0.032") or the clean idle jets.

Haha. I was assuming you were loading that sucker up with some gold bars! It should carry more than a measly 15 lbs. Probably more like a carry on.

That trunk saw more European countries than average American.
Colleague of mine asked me today if there is a collection going on to get me new seat. The new seat I have, but the PO cut off original hinges and I would have to weld the frame to fix it. It has to wait for frame up.
