Played some with "modern" bike parts - 1993 VFR fork and brakes. I was able to mock my "sidecar" wheel together in the VFR fork and VFR brake caliper. Sidecar wheel is CB750 front wheel with bearings upgraded to ID 20mm.
I never felt like going to 17" wheels on Dorothy, but seems like I have a plan now:
- Custom triple tree, VFR fork and brakes, 19" front wheel with original dual discs - thinned.
- 18" wheel for the back, original swingarm and decent shocks, unless I can find aluminum swingarm that fits 18" wheels. Drum brake for the rear wheel.
- DID rims or aluminum, depends what I can find.
The whole idea is for Dorothy to look like mild custom cafe with performance upgrades hidden in plain sight.
Opinions?
