Chevy/Geo tracker soft top woes. Anyone have one?
« on: April 26, 2011, 06:26:57 PM »
Picked this up used a week ago.  Is something missing above the tailgate?  The soft top just hangs down behind the gate.  I have a factory service manual on the way...

From jeep experience, there should be something like this:

Bar slides on the soft top edge and wedges in those two brackets on sides of the rear gate.

Thanks, I'll check them out.  The dealer has one at $207.

Worst designed softtop ever. I rented a tarcker in Hawaii and driving north of Kona with the wind howling across the lava rock and cactus, the top suddenly flies practically right off the car! Scared the holy crap out of us. We stuffed the top into the car and drove to our hotel and fixed it the next morning. Couldn't fix it, just drove with the top down for the rest of the vacation, down pours and all.

A friend has one of these trackers, the top has shrank a and is a bit loose in the back. Kind of a cool little car, I like the upright seating in it.  He has had it for two years or so and I don't think he has ever put the top down. Maybe best not to. I'll ask about it...

I got 31 mpg on the first tank!  That's the good news...  The bad news is my O2 sensor heating circuit is toast and so is my EGR valve...
