My packages regularly get delivered two buildings down. I have started telling sellers to write the color of my building on the packages.

And complaining does NOTHING.

FedEx Doesn't have the day in day out routes UPS has, sometimes the drivers don't know their assigned areas too well.

I have been shipping stuff daily for 15+ years, and UPS has never lost a package.....knock on wood!

I've got about a dozen undelivered packages in the last two years from them both combined. A couple times I have reported an item undelivered on ebay and got a refund, only for it to show up a week later.

Don't know how I mssed this post.  I must join in, I too HATE Fed Ex!!  For three days I have gone round and round with them about getting my package, not to metion the 2 weeks of hassle about the contents of said package.  They would not leave it because it had to be signed for, nor would they go to the apt. office and let them sign for it.  I ended up wasting my Saturday waiting on them to show up, finally have my package but will def NOT be using them ever again.  Ok I feel better rant over. ;)

I think it's the luck of the draw for your particular local route. I've seen bad reviews for UPS with similar complaints. My experience at my home address has been:

UPS= A batting average of 1000! The only shipper (along with USPS) that I will use. If an online seller only ships Fed-Ex I shop elswhere.

Fed-Ex= A batting average of .500. Half the packages that Fed-Ex has attempted to deliver to my has had some sort of issue, including, but not limited too:
*While tracking delivery, status shown as "Delivery attempted, business closed or resident unavailable" for two days in a row. No door tag was left either day, and someone was home all day the second day, no sign of attempted delivery. I don't know where they were going but they weren't coming here.
*Package delivered to our address number on the next street over.
*Package delivered looking like it had been run over by the truck (this has happened on two occasions)
*Package delivered, then driver came back 10 minutes later wanting to know if he had left behind an "extra package".
*I will give them credit for the most recent delivery, they actually made it to my address, even though the map that they had printed and stuck to the package showed our location four houses down....

For a company whose job is finding addresses, they seem to be struggling with mine.

Wow, I am in total agreement here!
I live in the sticks and have to endure fed ex home delivery - they made me wait 2 extra days to get engine parts just this week!  Tracking showed it on the truck, out for delivery Monday and Tuesday mornings, finally got it Wed evening @ 6PM.  Driver says he just got it on the truck.  They've left "signiture only" packages by my neighbors mailbox (almost 1000 yards away from mine) and sitting in a snowbank in my driveway this past winter.  I called their customer service this last time and they really didn't give a crap either, just made excuses.  I vowed to her (and myself) I will insist on UPS or USPS from here on out...

If I lived in the sticks I wouldnt be surprised but I'm right here on a major street in town.  Maybe i'll forward this thread to them.   ;D
