Got the engine back together mostly, then I noticed this (pic). I never noticed what is called the "roller collar", was still in the old cam tensioner wheel. (I bought a new tensioner and lower wheel). I can't believe I missed it. I don't remember the new wheel being that loose on the lower pin when I put it together. But I don't think the new rubber wheel would come with that part already in it, would it? But I stuck a chop stick down through the top and it DOES seems a bit loose on the shaft!!! DAMN!
Anybody else make this mistake? So, I guess I have to tear it apart and check. QUESTION- will the head gasket be ok? I've never run this engine. Just torqued stuff down and started to set the valve rockers when I noticed the problem. I'm thinking the 0-rings should all be ok to be re-used, but what about the head gasket? Man I feel stupid!!!!!!!
