Depending on your skill set there are still a way around it. You can something as simple as remoting back to your home system and browsing from there to setting up a proxy (squid) and funneling all your web traffic via ssh. Thats assuming they are not snooping SSL traffic at the proxy which most companies do not do. Im sure other will post ideas that are a bit simpler but a bit shifty in my book.

unfortunately my home system is a laptop and its in my backpack right here. I have been able to use something like logmein in the past.

I think a proxy might mess with the ability to connect to the local server tools I use to monitor customers connections. I think the MAC addresses are whats locked in on the system. when i plug my laptop into a wild ethernet cable it will connect fine. I just do basic tech and troubleshooting twice a week, so I dont have a lot of skill. I go to school for something else entirely.

If your financial situation allows get a sprint mifi or whatever carrier you prefer and do all your browsing from there. A group of us at my work do this and split the cost of the monthly fee so its only like 10 bucks a month. By using our own systems be it laptops or tablets we avoid braking company policy. Granted we all still tunnel back to our own environments because we are paranoid security rahtards but you get the point.

I used this for about three months (i think) before it stopped being free.  It's the only way I found to use my droid as a modem for free without rooting it.  http://www.mobile-stream.com/easytether/android.html

Worked great when we went on vacation.  High speed on the laptop in the car without a cell card.  Awesome.

I think the MAC addresses are whats locked in on the system. when i plug my laptop into a wild ethernet cable it will connect fine.

Are you saying that you can see pictures when you plug into a random ethernet cable?
