Since a thread was started about 750's, which promptly brought up the questions (1) why isn't this a poll (2) what if you have a big bore 750 and (3) what about 550's. I thought I would put up a poll covering all these options. Have at it.

Feel free to add a comment with a picture of the bike you rode. I'll add mine after I actually ride my stage.

Rode my CB750K8 650 miles which is currently sporting a CB750F3 engine while the K8 waits to be "Freshened up".

What about 350's, 400's, 500's, and 650's???

I tried to cover all the bases. If there are big bore kits for the non 750 bikes I apologize for excluding you.

I rode a loaner bike for over 2100 miles. CB650 is one helluva good guy!

I see lots of views, but only 19 responses. Have there really been only 19 bikes for all these states and miles? It sure seems like the total should be higher.

Let's see, according to this poll so far, almost 14% of respondents found the 750s were inadequate in stock form and needed help in the engine displacement area.

Whereas, the rest of the SOHC4s work fine just as Honda intended.

That is a matter of interpretation; the way I read it is that "almost 14%" of respondents have found that their SOHC4's performance could be significantly improved over the original design, and still be reliable.

My 836 got 50-60mpg. That's better than a lot of the people on stock bikes that I talked to.

I'll be riding my original CB750K3 (over 70k) with a fresh top-end including valves from a low-mileage K1. My back up is my brother-in-laws K4 with an 836-kit, and my next option is the ratty- but runs like a top - K0 that I acquired a few weeks ago. My summer is full so I hope the relay gets to Wisconsin for the meet up with Ken at CYCLE-X............maybe we will all have improved motors by the next day???

I rode my 77 CB750A Hondamatic (maybe the only one in the relay?) and I got 40 miles per gallon. Better then I thought it would do.

There was another 750A. I had to bring a battery to him because he broke down. You can find pics of it in the riders log.

I rode my stock (well, it has a little Mike Rieck headwork) 1977 cb750f. I got around 40 mpg. when riding at a "reasonalble" speed last weekend, I got about 50.

Bankerdanny, you didn't leave a choice for something other than a SOHC/4. It might be an interesting bit of info to see in your poll.

I'll be riding my CB500, but like you I'll post after I ride, just in case.

Yes, I should have included an option for "other". I should have had a separate choice for the 750A too.

Edit: OK, I have added both of those to the poll. 05c05, I assume that you already checked off the regular CB750 option., unfortunately I can't edit the totals.

Don R: you need to have Bud vote he would actually get 2 since he rode both his CB750 and the Goldwing. He might be the only participant who rode 2 different bikes.

So there's no issue with bikes other than the sohc4's riding along? I haven't brought it up since my project has been on the back burner going on 6 years now and didn't want to be shut out..... at least my 'other' bike is a 750 Honda inline 4

I believe, to maintain the integrity of the relay, that Godzilla should only be carried by SOHC Hondas. You can ride along but you will be farted at.

I also got an average of 55 MPG on the relay with my 836, and that does not include any FEET I pushed my bike during parking maneuvers.

I rode my '72 CB500Four. Could be the only one in the world decked out with a complete Vetter touring package. It carried me for a total of 2195.1 miles on the Michigan leg and coming home around the bottom of Lake Michigan.
