cb headers on a cl
« on: May 01, 2011, 02:40:43 PM »
Any suggestion on how to fix the issue of fitting these cb pipes into a cl engine seems like the collar at the end of the cb headers are smaller then my cl headers, doesn't quit fill the space in the cylinder?

What bike??
For 350/450 I can say without question they should be switchable with no issues......

It's a cl350, you would think they would you could swap them but no such luck. The pipes from my cl have a thicker collar then the cb pipes, might have to have someone at a machine shop make me some custom spacers?

You have to be more specific about your model with 350's.
Part # 18233-318-000 (COLLAR, EX. PIPE JOINT) is same for

Looking at the pic on Bikebandit it looks like the collars for the cb are longer then the cl that"s probably the problem.

Probably not the problem. The part numbers for both the collars and finned joints are exactly the same on both the CB and CL. Might be a matter of terminology, though. What are you referring to as a collar? Are the headers stock Honda or aftermarket? A picture of the problem might help.

I don't have a pic, but it seems as though the collars or half circles are different lengths making the cb header lose unlike the end of the cl header which has a welded on spacer from the factory which is adding to the collars.
