Help getting indicator lights back together

I have piece a couple set of indicator lights to create a working panel. However, I can not for the life of me get the medal clip back over the light housing. Does anyone have some tips or pictures on how this should look and work...

I'm sure it helps to know that it is a 73 750 K....
