Post the photos of your dual disc set up
« on: May 03, 2011, 02:24:37 PM »
I've been through the FAQ's and searched various threads on dual disc conversions but can't find many decent photos of setups for comparison. I would love to see more especially with close ups and would think that lots of folks on here would like to see what others have done.

Here's mine. The bike is a '72 500, but the forks are off a '75 550, as is all of the additional brake parts and I,m using a master cylinder from a '77 GL1000.  The brake lines are braided SS lines made by pompadori with a double banjo bolt and 2 lower lines from the switch junction.  I'm also using the Speedo drive adapter from rangelov.  Both of these guys provide quality stuff, very much recommended.  rangelov also sells the adapter with longer bolts for mounting your two disks.  If he had been providing these when I bought my adapter from him I would have purchased them as well.  These pictures are from my post in the "What did you to your bike today?" thread on page 201, if I recall correctly. The originals are on a computer that is currently down so I can't give any better images than these right now.  If you look closely at the right side image you can see how I handled the shimming issue as well as the never addressed what to do about your fender brace issue.  You can see I also put the lock nut for the adjuster in between the fork tab and the spring.

Here are some recently completed CB750. I am using the standard master cylinder and it is just fine. I also had DOT Stainless Steel braided brake lines made locally by a company called Pirtek. Also is a link to photobucket. There several in progress photos that show the fit up, the speedo, etc.

Here's pictures of mine. since i had the forks out anyway, i turned them around to the back. I had to grind the lower boss on the fork that did not have a brake mounted to it before and tap the hole. The caliper and pads wouldn't line up right with out doing this. I think honda left this in an unfinished state on purpose.  I used all stock parts with a double banjo bolt. The hard lines at the bottom are the stock lines, i just cut them off bent them to fit and re-flared the ends. The braided lines are from Slingshot cycles.
