Here's a tribute to the ULTIMATE Relay Rider. If you rode 1000 miles or more whether or not you had Godzilla with you or whether or not you were on a SOHC4 please list your name and city, bike, total mileage ridden, mileage ridden with Godzilla, and your approximate route.  ;D

5/4/2011 UPDATE: I've just cleaned this up guys. My intent was to just have the 1000+ mile riders list their information. I was guilty too. Guess we get carried away sometimes  ;)

Adam Albright, Fayetteville AR, 1978 cb836F, 1158 total miles, 341 miles with Godzilla on my bike.

I started in Fayetteville AR (4/16/11) and took I-540 to hwy71 in Ft. Smith, to hwy270 in "Y" City on to Hot Springs. Stayed the night at a friends house. The next day (4/17) I took hwy270 to I-40 to Little Rock, met rider Coke at State Capitol building, then took 530/65 to Pine bluff. Found out LA rider was stuck in LA so we picked up a battery for him in Pine Bluff and took 65 to Eudora then turn onto AR159/LA17 to Oak Grove LA. We gave Cody the battery and Godzilla got on with me. Headed back to Pine Bluff the same way we came, then got on hwy270 in Pine Bluff. Rode hwy270 all the way to "Y" City and got back on 71 to Ft. Smith. Stayed the night at Coke's house in Van Buren. (pretty much Ft. Smith) Gave Godzilla to rider taxiscooter. (4/18) From Van Buren we took I-540 to OK271 to Antlers OK (a wrong turn or two in the mix). That was where I turned back and took ok271 back to 540 all the way to Fayetteville. One hell of a ride! That took a lot longer to type that I thought it would. I hope you actually wanted that much detail.

Well I do not know if I am truly worthy of putting my name down here since I was unable to ride a SOHC bike on the relay but I did travel along side Godzilla for two legs of the rally. I rode along side some great fellow SOHC members and had a blast, every mile was worth it.

I did put in some miles.  Left Fort Worth and went to get G at the OK border in Denison, TX. Then back to Ft Worth.  Next morning I went to Houston on the 19th, then to Austin, then to Big Spring on the 21st.  Up to Lamesa this morning for the hand off and back to Ft Worth.  1438 miles over 4 days.

*oh, and I was on clubmans.

How many miles did Coke log?

well since you asked.. I came up just a bit short.  964 cause we trailered home from Denison.  If I had known we were going to post if we had done 1000 I would have told taxiscooter to stop and pick me up in 40 miles.. (LOL)

Just got back home to Texas a couple of hours ago.  From Lamesa, TX to Lordsburg, NM, and back home to Texas my sohc four performed flawlessly!  Just put my bike in the garage.  She has 1,000 miles under her belt in just four days!  I am proud of her!  How many 40 year old bikes could do this without so much as a hiccup!  Going west with Godzilla, I averaged around 33mpg going uphill and into the wind.  I had an all time low of 28 mpg going 70 mph into a 30 mph headwind right before the handoff in Lordsburg, NM! Over the 500 miles coming home, I had a tailwind.  Going home my mpg was 45, 47, 54, 51, 38, and 50 with speeds ranging from 60 to 75 mph.  Coming home, the 54 mpg was an all time best for me and my bike!  So I got my best and worst mpg on the same trip!  Thank god for the reliability and dependability of an sohc four because I was all alone for 1,000 miles!                    Justin Carthel, Littlefield, TX

Well I can add 800 for a total of 1800.  Wanted another 2 but would have been a struggle in the wind.
As it was we got off on some dirt roads instead of fighting I-70.  Saw some really cool old farms and vehicles.  Rode back on 36 yesterday.   Adams (now dads) bike was here.  Had to drain the gas as the petcock was leaking HAHA!!  Nice meeting everyone and riding.

I unloaded from the trailer in Sedalia Mo. With 9,470 miles. I rode to Topeka  Ks, back to sedalia on highway2  then to Warsaw Mo. back through Mo on 50, 94 etc to Galesburg Il. A side trip to Charlies Bike Shop for pics and parts then back to Galesburg. Sat morning to Dixon Il. St. Charles il, and through the chicago area to Munster Indiana. We returned home today and my bike has 10,756.6 for a total of 1,274 miles. Or, over 10% of the total miles on the bike since new in 76.

Oh, and 4 states! Probably 1000 or so with godzilla on board.

1024 miles, Zero Zilla Miles on my brand-X Honda.....and 35-ish with the banner and log book.

Saturday June 11, 2011 Out To Rhinebeck,NY with Andy750 for the Hand-off from BobbyR and the NY crew at the Rhinebeck Grand National Vintage Motorcycle Show (where my 19 year old bike felt conspicuously modern) then back to Oxford, MA with Andy750 on Sunday to hand off to CB55cafe (Kevin) and then back home. Meanwhile CB55cafe showed CT to GZ and handed off to BigKO (Ken) from RI, who'd meet me and Andy750 on Saturday June 25 in Athol,MA to hand GZ back to Andy. I held the banner and logbook for the 35ish miles to Brattleboro, VT where Andy handed GZ off to Cupcake and the rest of the guys and girls from MA, VT and NH. I rode with them all of Saturday and Sunday to the hand-off to 73Nancy in Fryeburg,ME then home again for a total of 1024 miles.

I'll ride with GZ next time around.
