Maybe Spring has Sprung
« on: April 11, 2006, 01:33:49 PM »
I'm sure we still have a few nippy days to go, maybe even some snow, but I think spring has arrived in S.E. Michigan. Slogged through some yard work this morning, promised my wife I would clean-up the winter litter. When I was done, thought I'd go for a short ride. Eighty miles later  ;D I rolled back into the driveway. It actually hit 75F today! Oh, yea, still no oil drips, tada!
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Count yourselves lucky, in the last month and a half here in northern California, we have seen maybe four days of sun. I'm beginning to think I was somehow transferred to Seattle but I doubt even they get this much rain! ;D

I'm a maple syrup producer and our season is well over and spring with it. With the temperature we enjoyed today, could we say this is early summer? Maybe I've just jinxed us.

Hey Dusthawk!  I am living in Berkeley and commuting to Napa.  It has been so irritating as I've been waiting for some nice weather to take the bike to work.    I hope this incessant rain is done for a while.

As I type this,it is 36 with a rain/snow/sleet mix. It was 70 yesterday, the trees are leafed out and the flowers are brilliant. Well...at least until tonights predicted frost. Then 70 again by Thursday. Ah-h-h-h...spring in Iowa.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH, just look at that sun hanging there in the sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now wouldn't you know it, I'm waiting on a set of bearings to get me bike back on the road. I did all the work I planned on to get rolling by Monday and doggone it my bearings were shot to scrap, so here I sit, twiddling my thumbs waiting for those dratted things!

Well, definitely, by Saturday, I'll be rolling along some West Marin road cruising along or maybe head for Mount Tamalpais to check out the great views.

In the mean time, my fingers are crossed so nothing else will keep me from that ride.

Peace and Long Rides!!!!!

I like to do the Pt. Reyes to Tomales Bay section of hwy 1.  I like Mt. Tam up the back way from Fairfax as well.

Jeff,  You got any favorites you are willing to share?

I just put in new brake shoes and am waiting on my a new advance mechanism to smooth my timing...  THEN I will be enjoying the Bay Area at its best!

Welll, nights have been in the 20's and with the frostbite I can no longer ride
long in cold weather, ie, hands stop working wuickly then the brain goes... ;D

So, the wife and I have decided to move (in four years) to either North or South
Carolina, y'all. I think we should buy some land near a lake. Any suggestions?
peace,
michel

If we ever moved south at all (not likely though) we would consider Ashville, NC. Went there on a business trip a couple of times, very impressed.
