New Indiana Kid on the Block
« on: May 01, 2011, 07:56:03 PM »
Just got my first ever street bike a couple of weeks ago- '76 CB550F cafe. I'm glad I found this site. Plenty of helpful advise and insiration. Anyway, I'm looking forward to making some new friends here in Indiana and elswhere with a passion for vintage bikes. I think I'm hooked  ;D

I'm glad I've seen quite a few from the Indy area. I'm from Terre Haute, so you Indy guys are pretty much my neighbors. My bike actually came from the Indy area.

I was 17 in the summer of 1970. Riding my 67 Bonneville from Indy to CA, camped in Big Sur, on an epic 6 week trip. That song was my theme, singing it over and over in my helmet.

That sounds like it was a pretty cool trip Ron, as for me and the summer of '70, I was busy preparing for my upcoming entry into kindergarden!  ;) ;D ;D

Yeah that thing shook like crazy, I bet I lost 10 years of kidney function in those 6 weeks.  :D   Broke a lot too.  Nothing a kid couldn't handle.
