'70 CB750K parts "engine"
« on: May 01, 2011, 09:15:19 PM »
So a guy I know has a bunch of old bikes (motorized and peddle), and I asked him about a couple of engine pieces for my 750.  He told me he had a complete engine for $75.  So I went and looked...

engine is seized, transmission shifts, all the aluminum engine covers were in good shape.

I gave him the $75 ,dragged it onto my friend's trailer and took it home.

Oh, and he forgot to mention most of the bike came with the engine until I got there.  After we loaded this poor broken thing, the guy I bought it from came from around the garage with the tank for it!  :o  The whole front end is trashed, looks like someone hit something or dumped the bike hard.  And the rear wheel in the pic is mine, the bike didn't have one.

So, I think I got my money's worth for $75 since it has all the parts I needed and then some.  Of course, I may have been taken for a ride, I'm not sure, so that's why I'm posting this...   ??? Did I actually get a good deal? ???

for $75 how can you even be asking that question?? ofc you got ripped off ;)

check the numbers on that motor to see where it fell in production, ie K0 or K1...regardless, by using parts for yourself or selling off some stuff you'll have made a worthwhile buy. #$%*, $75 don't go far at all these days, and you have a hunk of steel to show for yours :)

You got a deal, now check your neutral switch, if it's good, I'll give ya 10 bucks for it.  Now the engine only cost you $65.

Next!!!!   You should have lots of takers for the parts you don't need.

I think that you were ripped off. How about I help you out and give you back your $75 and I take away the junk for scrap metal value?  ;)
