Kawasaki Ticket to Ride
« on: May 22, 2011, 04:30:40 PM »
I took advantage of the Kaw demo ride program that was nearby this weekend. I rode three new bikes, and could have ridden more new bikes but didn't have time because I went for a 120 miler on the CB yesterday. They had a nice escorted ride, 15 miles? thru Hines Drive and a return blast on the Interstate.

The bikes were sorted: cruisers, sport-tour, supersport. I went just to ride the Concours 1400, but I ended up riding a Z1000 as well, and took junior on the back of the 1700 Nomad (I dragged the floorboards). All very nice and uhhhh turned the Z1000 loose for just a bit trying to keep up with the escort rider and a ZX10, while entering the freeway. WOW!!

I've been going to the MC show here, in January, for a while... no demo rides in January  :(  but I got wind of this event and it was terrific. I guess they have been doing this for a while but its the first I'd heard. None of the other makes offer anything like this around here so when/if I ever buy a new one Kaw will be at the top of the short list.

I took advantage of the event down here in Miami. I was totally disappointed at the Ninja 1000.  :-\
On the bike I tested the vibration through the footpegs and seat put my backside to sleep after the 20 min ride. I don't want to imagine after a couple of hours on the road. I was expecting silky smooth killer torque engine but it was not to be.
Well, maybe I'm spoiled by Honda that's why.  :)
Also no porta potties or vendors for refreshments were available. Double  >:(
Nice ride, but that's were it stopped
