Disorganized apartment build... '72 750
« on: May 06, 2011, 07:31:35 PM »
Hello people. I've had a '72 CB750 for a couple of years now. I took it down from a complete running bike to a basket case. Before i tore it down it was running off an iv bottle, and had mannny wore out parts, but the engine ran and pulled great. Even tho the carbs didn't have any kind of air filter on them, the bike still pulled flawlessly in every gear. Since the tear I've replaced the base gasket, head gasket, rebuilt the top end (head), and added most of the other model/custom parts I'll be running.

My goal is a kinda wrench monkey style build. I hate chrome so will none of that stuff on this bike. I'm not too fond of gloss either, so the tank and seat will be flat/satin white and the oil tank, left side cover, headlight bucket and triple trees will all be "ultra flat" black. The frame is painted with Rustoleum Hammered black paint.

So far I've borrowed some ideas from other members on here and adapted them to work for my build. Mainly the RC51 rear sets and 1980 dohc swing arm.
Front to back, here's a list of what I got goin' on so far:

78-79 super sport front w/duel disk set up
78-79 super sport upper and lower triple trees
ebay aluminum clip on bars
05-ish cbr 600rr front brake master cylinder
70-something super sport tank
Crapy "dunstall" seat
old Kooks 4-1 header
RC51 rear sets
RC51 rear master cylinder
78-79 silver comstar wheels w/ black Honda logos
and Bridgestone Spitfire tires
that's all I can think of right now. I still have a bit more to buy too tho.
