Topic: help....Alt/ Stator wires? and rec. reg wire colors

I'm in the process of wiring up my 71 cb750 and ran into a bit of a kink. I've purchased a reg. rec. combo awhile ago.

It has
3 yellow,
1 red,
1 green

and then it  has 1 black, 1 white, and 1 green.

I want to say it was made by Rick's?? it's a cast piece. like every other one ever made and it's silver. I know the yellows go to the stator wires, but not sure where the red and green go since my other 2 wires coming from the case are both wrapped white?

Is there any way to use a multimeter to tell which is which? Not sure what either actually do. I could also use help on the other 3 wires on the reg/rec.
green(ground), black(acc), White(battery)??

Any ideas, I'm so close to getting this thing fired up!

If it is using Honda Color conventions:

Red connects to battery POS

Green connects to Battery NEG

Black connects to Key switch power +12

White connects to alternator field coil.

Green connects to alternator field coil green.  (or engine case if the filed coils is case grounded inside the covers.)

You'll have to dig and find out what the two "wrapped" White" wires attach to inside.  They used to have Honda color coded wires.

What I don't know is if the "combo unit" you purchased follows Honda color code convention.

thanks but...I have the 3 yellow wires all figured out and the rest of the reg/ rec leads to the ignition . So I think.

EXCEPT for the 2 whites...

Put it this way:
from the the left side cover I have 5 wires
3 in a groupo that I know go to the 3 yellows in the reg/rec.
So on the feed side I have the other 2 wires from the left side cover that are white?
I'm thinking 1 has to be a ground???
the only other problem I see  is the key switch I have is reading hot in the acc. when the key is off.

I have the black wire from the reg/rec going to the acc. on the key
and the white from the reg/ rec to the batt. on the key (white was the fatter wire)
the battery positive is also ran to the key batt. terminal

Do I want power running into my acc when the key is off? will it burn up my dyna s ignition?
