Anyone got a new-style (Hinckley) Bonneville?
« on: May 07, 2011, 12:39:54 PM »
I just got one, bought used.  I am trying to figure out if the seat has a locking latch like my old CB550k had- maybe even with a manual or tool kit under the seat!  :-)

Anyone here know?

Just removed the seat- no manual or latch..  Shucks!  Anyone have a 2006 Bonneville Owners Handbook in pdf format?

Thanks!

look at the back of the seat there is a bracket that connects the seat the end of the frame rails remove the two Allen heads bolts
and lift off the seat.

yup- found those bolts.  The funny think is, I went to Sears, and bought a kit of allen keys (just because, I loaned out my original set)..  Spent too much $$$ on the keys, had to dremel off the 5mm key so it would fit in a 5mm socket to reach the seat bolt without messin up the seat.

Got the seat off, no manual.  Only then do I find the special "seat removal allen tool" on the inside of the right-side, side panel.   ::)

I meant to ask- do/did you own one?   Has it been a reliable machine?
