So, should I buy it?  It is stock, and appears to be all there.  47,xxx miles and nothing is rusty.  It started right up, but idled a little poorly.  The top end made some noise as it was idling, and the #2 cylinder seemed to be firing less strong (judging by exhaust pressure) than the others, so I'm not sure if there is an issue or if it just needs a tune up and sync.  I didn't have a compression tester with me, but I kicked it over and all four compression pulses seemed even through the kick start lever.

The seat it ripped, and the fuel tank has some scratches in the paint.  The left side cover is also cracked, but nothing is missing, all the keys work, and the engine does not leak oil.

I have a K6 and it is my sweetheart (don't tell my other sweetheart).  I've grown to love the Antares Red and soon my engine will breath like a K0 (thank Mark ).  I have other bikes but my K6 was my first love . 

I'll probably build a K4 that looks like a K1 and it'll be great but it won't be quite the same.  I think the bikes look better and better as you go earlier in model year. 

Go buy it.  It needs attention and don't be surprised if you're opening her up for a rebuild but it will be so much the better when you're done.  Make sure to buy HondaMan's book.  You won't be sorry you did.

Don't they all have "top end noise"? I generally wait for the killer deals to come to me but that looks like a good bike at a fair prce. Obviously, the idle issue is probably just a little schmutz in the carbs. Judging by the apparent condition, it's probably been adult owned and cared for so 47k isn't necessarily high mileage. Offer him 900 and see how it goes.

Thanks for the feedback.  It is actually owned by a very cool lady who has a couple in her garage.  She was dismantling a 750 engine when I walked up.

I'll put in an offer next week after it has sat a few days.  I don't think it is going to move quickly with that many miles.

I know some of these bikes had cam chain failure issues.  Is this one of the model years that had that issue?  Any major problems with these bikes?
