That bike is a great find, I would agree with most folks here - enjoy the  ride as it is and slowly get it back to original as the parts come your way.

I hope to find a K0 here in Australia one day...

From one KO owner to another good deal on the $50 pipes Tech, good shape too. Mine still has the OEM pipes and are fair shape to be 42 years old. Top Lt. and lower has some rust holes along seam. Mine are missing baffles to. Going to try to a little patch work and make these originals last as long as I can. PO owner put pods on mine to, but says he still has the original air box, just waiting to get it. Just replacing and repairing and cleaning what it needs to make it a safe every day rider. Can't wait to get it on the road!! Don't want a museum piece just a good road worthy bike. Here's a pic of mine, got it a few weeks ago. Good luck with yours, were and how did you find it?

I've seen Terry in Australia do a write up on splitting the tank apart at the seams, banging the dents out, and welding it back together.  If you've got the skills/tools, I'd say that's the way to go.  IIRC, I heard bad things about using air pressure to do the job.

That's a nice bike mate, good score! That dent will be easy to pull out, get yourself a "Ding King" or similar and you'll be able to pull it out without messing with your original OEM paint. Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Nice find man. Look forward to seeing things progress.  Im doing the same with a K2.  First step was clean everything and get it running as best as I could.  I wanna do a full frame up restore, in a few years.  Congrats.

That ST1100 is nice Tech and Im sure it will eat up a lot of pavement and keep you pretty comfortable along the way. If your going log a bunch of miles of course its better suited than the KO and it would of been great for you to been able to keep it and some how still get the ST. IMO the ST is just another motorcycle , but a 1970 CB750KO is a classic and there getting harder and harder to find. Hope you don't hate yourself later for this, but by your subject heading it sounds like maybe you already there.

i got the 70 for a steal and am happy what i got out of her.... im already in the works for a 73  to keep my mind off of her... i was at the point to put the cash into her or get the cash outta her...she needed alot of little stuff and i didnt have the cash to give her a proper restoration and her number 2 intake was chattering ... i wasnt gonna keep riding her with out tearing into the engine... and i wasnt gonna pull the engine without painting the frame... so you can see how things were piling up... i really wanted something me and my wife could be compfortable on for a couple hundred miles and jumped on this ST
but i think theres another one out there for me just waiting in a barn

Yeah keep your eyes open and get the word out that your looking for another SOHC4. Be surprised how many of these old Honda's are still stored away in people's garages and basements and forgot about. This is how I found my KO last year ;D
