Removing Intake Boots
« on: April 17, 2006, 07:07:54 PM »
I bought a set of intake manifolds and rubber boots off ebay recently and was playing around and put one of the boots on the intake.  This was after I noticed that the insides of one side of the intake boots appeared to be damaged.  I was working under the assumption that perhaps the intake manifold was causing this damage to the boots as the other sides appeared to be okay.  Now, I have the boot on the manifold and it is reluctant to come off.  I am also reluctant to cause more damage to the boots.

Would dropping it in boiling water be safe?

Also, does anyone know if these are rubber or polyurethane?

Thanks

I boiled mine in water and added wintergreen oil(I think) and seemed to help
