Thanks big guy.. Def come along way since it left your garage.

Made some good progress on the tank tonight.. After looking at fj's 125 I fell in love with the design on his tank... He was kind enough to let me look through his pics to find a good shot to reference.. Thanks buddy!

I didn't want to completely copy it so decided to change it up a bit by breaking up the bottom portion and I'll be adding a third thin strip as well. I also have to give a huge thanks to my friend chris for helping me with the taping..

And the shot of fj's tank I used for reference.. Hope he dosnt mind me posting it

as for the Fix, honestly i havnt rode at all this year  :-\ i bought 2 new tires, regreased the neck bearings and cleaned and oiled the chain at the begining of spring then entered the CB and thats pretty much all i care about now ahahhahaahaha.. do you ride at all?

It is a cool design, really excited to see it done.

While you're at it, get rid of those cages and put some decent clipless pedals on there.  It makes a huge difference on any bike, but especially a fixie. :)

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Ehh, i dont ride enough to justify spending the money on clips and shoes. if anything Id just get a set of double straps.. SAGlife makes a really nice leather set for a decent price.. thats the least of my worries right now though ahahhahha

Here's a dumb question: are you sure that the badge will fit inside the masked-off area?

And a concern: those ripples on the inner radius of the curve will allow paint to bleed under the tape.  You would be better off to remove that tape, apply some thick painter's tape and then mark & cut the curve.

Are we posting fixie pics in here now?

Proud owner - so proud and distracted that the bike is facing the wrong way.

I love you SO MUCH!

Since those pics were taken, I've switched to a chrome chain, black 17t cog, unmachined Velocity Deep V rear wheel, and an Easton EC70 carbon seatpost.

A bicycle with one gear and no freewheel.  "Fixie" is short for "fixed gear bicycle".

YUP!

There are people riding them outside the city, though.  I've done a bit of touring on mine - century rides 2 days in a row the summer before last.

Oh, that's pretty cool. I have a one off vintage 10 speed that my uncle built back in the day. I'll see if I have a pic of it. I'm not so much of a fan of the fixies, I think they're a bit over rated, but love the old style look to some of them.

It seems the new hipster trend is to ditch the fixie and get any " cafe"  thing going they can.  In my area they are driving the price of vintage bikes up.  you can make a killin off a CB350 that is generally a parts bike and 3 years ago would sell for 200$ ;D now valued at 1200$ >:(.  Pretty soon we'll see a "cafe" with pink wheels and LV seat.  :o

A bicycle with one gear and no freewheel.  "Fixie" is short for "fixed gear bicycle".

Generally ridden by a yuppie in disguise these are called hipsters.  A mustache, hooded sweatshirt that's too small and glasses always helps. If you can grow a beard then that is a plus. This breed looks broke but usually more often than not grew up on a golf course. Really prevalent in San francisco and NY. The take something like a fixed gear bike and ruin it with expensive heavy wheels that real cyclist consider garbage, and make fruity color combos with spokes and rims. Before you know it they have 1500$ fixed gear bike made up of all useless non performance parts simply for a look.  But hey it's their money. I just hate it when one takes my seat at the bar.

Hipsters are just now driving up the price in arizona? you guys are a little behind the times, try getting bikes from LA or sanfrancisco, people have made  their business  of selling crappy bikes as cafe racers. There are still deals to be had you just have to be fast.
