just wanted to introduce myself
« on: April 17, 2006, 08:27:20 PM »
I have been a long time fan of the cb750, especially in the cafe racer form.
I rebuild Super Magnas, and was going to buy a 74 750 cafe racer when i decided "hey, i can build one myself" so hence my journey to learn as much as i can about the old cb's, and find one in good shape/motor strong, that i can reshape to my styling. or even find a 750 cafe style that has all the embellishments done.

Anyway, I've done my homework, and ready to dig in.
My first question, is there  a particular yea/model more sought after than others.

Well I think in the stock configurations the K0 is the one that tops'em all in the value books. However you can build a cafe racer out of just about any year really. usually it is a matter of what presents itself at the right time.

Welcome to the site, and don't listen to a word from Dusterdude !
He likes Mopars, enough said  ;D

I found my bike on Ebay. It didnt sell on auction, I emailed the owner, and bought it outright.
I think the CB750 (mines a 72K) is the bike to Cafe/Own , due to the power a.k.a NO REPLACEMENT 4 DISPLACEMENT. Others think the CB550 is the bike becasue it is lighter ,and handles better.

Here in Chicago, you need as much power as you can get to prevent from getting killed by the cabbies and other drivers, so the 750 was my bike of choice...
