This weekend I was visiting the ol' home town and I stopped and visited a buddy from high school who I hadn't seen in about 10 years.
When we were in high school his Dad had a motorcycle shop.
When I was a kid we had a lot of fun with bikes and got into a lot of trouble in that shop.
I haven't been in the shop since the early 80's
Well, as the years went by my buddy's Dad passed the bike shop on to his son and now it's a full-blown machine shop and my buddy mostly builds car engines now.
The first time I saw this bike was probably 1978 and it looked just about the same...
If I recall it's a '71 or '72 350 bored out to ~390 or something close to that. It was being built as a drag bike.
I couldn't believe they still had that bike after all these years.
(Those hornet nests have also been on the wall for 35 years!)
Apparently about 20 years ago my friend got tired of moving the unfinished bike around the shop so he hung it from the ceiling in the office!
My friend said he was going to have to take it down soon since his Dad said he wants to see it run before he dies.
Anyway, lotta memories of good times!
