Well, bike is gone. Now i need to figure out what the next project is, besides finishing my 550. My options are another 125 or a trail 90.

well that didnt' take long.

I think you should do the Trail but give it a raked out front end, long forks and a hardtail.

You are right, its not easy. I have just been lucky. This is the second time that the day after i sold a bike i came home with another one the next day. Last time i sold a cb550 and then came home with Lil frank the 125.

ff,
I think some of those nice little bikes have a bit of "transformer" spirit in them and they can kind of "sense" when you're in the area...; they're seeking you out ! They know a good Restoration Specialist when they see one.

Guess what i bought...

BIG BLUE! LOL!!!

It needs a little cleaning up. I think it spent a bit of time outside by the ocean judging by the corrosion on some parts and rust. Im glad to have it back. Ill ride it for a little while and then sell it again. Ha

Big blue was pushing to much smoke out the breather tube. So i ripped the motor out and Im going to rebuild it. I think Im going to go with silver this time.

So, what happened with big blue? Lack of oil changes, pump failure, tensioner failure causing pump failure?

Yahoo list has some cb175 following alomg with cb160 racer group might be able to help

Its pretty common failure if the oil is not changed often enough. I never tore into the motor and obviously care enough and know enough to change the oil so i imagine it happened before i bought the bike and has just been getting worse. Ill look through my parts and see if i have a head that is in good enough shape. I just want to get it running good again  and then sell it. It also had a broken piston ring. that was the reason for the tear down it was having a lot of blow by. Which is funny cause compression was 170

Its a 74. Any year will work. all the way up to like 81 i think. the later heads are 2 piece but they fit, Im not building a restored bike.

Yep mine should work. When I get back home I'll give it a once over and make sure it's in good shape.
Let me know if there's any other parts you need as well.
