CB500 Film Clip "40 CARATS 1973"
« on: May 13, 2011, 09:04:21 PM »
I waited for a while to get this movie off TCM so I could make a clip of the CB500 scenes.

This brings back how we explored Greece in 1980 (my girlfriend rode her own 350Four). We would take these adventureous roads and free us of our helmets. Sometimes these mulepaths led nowhere but to a remote monastery where we were invited to stay for the night and drink retsina.

Oh, what great acting!  ;-)  I'm itching to do some exploring like that in the Sierra Nevadas.  I thought I'd need a scrambler setup, but maybe my 350f would be up to the challenge afterall.

Doesn't anyone think the "KEEP THAT THING AWAY FROM ME" "THIS IS A HONDA 500 FOUR" segment is hilarious? I wonder how much money Honda donated to the production?

LMAO whoever dubbed the film got the engine note wrong, it's wearing original pipes and it's THAT loud. The bike sounds more like a twin than a four IMO, when the 500 was new it was one of the quietest bikes on the road, at tickover you could barely hear it and it certainly revved much faster than that from tickover. I'm betting they used the sound of a Bonny as it would have been a very common bike when this was filmed.

Never seen the film the clip came from, recognise the actor but can't remember his name.
