SOHC4 Bike Of The Month rules and how to:
« on: April 19, 2006, 09:58:35 AM »
SOHC-FOUR motorcycle of the month rules:

1.   The SOHC4 motorcycle must be owned by the forum member (we’ll take your word for it)
2.   If the bike is no longer in the possession (however that may be) of the nominee after 1st & 2nd nomination and acceptance, it may continue to the voting thread.  If it is no longer in possession (however that may be) of the nominee before that, it will not continue to the voting thread.
3.   User must be nominated by another member, no self nominations
4.   A nomination must be made, seconded and accepted within the allotted timeframe (if you do not accept a seconded nomination by the 15th of the month, you/your bike will not be included in the contest for Bike of the month)
5.   If a bike was voted upon in a BOTM and did not win, it may not be re-nominated for 3 months.
6.   Please refrain from topics other than Bike of the month within these particular threads.
7.   If you nominate another user that has multiple motorcycles, state which one you would like to nominate.
8.   The motorcycle must be a Honda SOHC4
9.   If the motorcycle is a rebuild or restoration, it must be at the completed stage and RUNNING.  In the case of a show bike or museum piece, it will be at the Moderators decision to allow it into the competition and only providing that it was common knowledge that it was not intended to be a runner when it was nominated. Knowing many of these bikes are never finished in the owners eyes, we will take the owners word for it that it is in some form of completed stage.
10.   If you nominate a person, once the nomination has been seconded, the nominator should contact the person he has nominated along with a link to the thread so that the person nominated has the chance to respond. Remember lots of people on the forum only visit certain sections and might not even know about BOTM.
11.   The global/forum/sub-forum moderators reserve the right to not allow a bike that has been nominated, seconded and accepted by other forum members into the voting thread.  This is at the global/forum/sub-forum moderators discretion. Once a bike has WON BOTM, it can NOT be nominated a second time.

HOW IT WORKS:

1.   Monthly nominations will begin at the beginning of the month and run until the 15th. Amendment: Nominations shall be ongoing.  Bikes qualified (nominated, seconded and accepted) by the 15th of a month shall be eligible for selection for voting.
2.   From the 16th to the end of the month a poll setup will be used to vote.  Amendment: Up to four qualified bikes will be selected by the Moderator(s) for a monthly vote.  The Moderator(s) shall have the discretion (permitting there are sufficient number of qualified bikes) to select certain classes of common bikes by style (stock, cafe, race bike, etc.) or size (350, middleweights or 750).
3.   Users will not be able to view the results until the contest has ended each month.
4.   The user with the most votes wins bike of the month.  If there is a tie, they will win that month and represent that month in the BOTY.
5.   There are 11 BOTM's (January to November) and one BOTY (December).

NOTE:  each month, a forum moderator will setup the nomination and voting threads.  Please do not start one yourself as it may become quite confusing.

Lastly, January through November we will vote on "Bike Of The Month", in December we will vote for "Bike Of The Year" based on all the 11 winners of "bike of the month" throughout the year.
