Can anybody think of....
« on: May 18, 2011, 02:45:53 pm »
Can anybody think of a smaller diameter speedometer (Honda) that has the jewel light in them  -  oil & neutral  (similar to the K0 750's)

Looking for something with a smaller diameter than the stock 750K models.  Ideally something with a diameter smaller than 3"
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I just checked with partsnmore & they are currently sold out. There are some available on ebay. Just do a search for 2240:60.

I just received this same gauge from dimecitycyles.com.  Make sure you get the correct ratio.

Those are pretty cool, but I'm hoping there might be something off another early Honda that might have the "idiot / jewel" lights on the actual faces.

I've found some that have a neutral and a signal jewel on them, but I don't know what year or model they came off.   I really just need the neutral and the oil lights.    I guess it's possible that I could just use the signal jewel for the oil light, but I was hoping the jewel would be red vs orange.

Maybe one of the elliptical ones from an early CL175?  Might be hard to find one in decent shape, and it may use a different ratio, but it looks good.

This is the best pic I could access at work (a lot of stuff is blocked so I stole this from Google images).

OEM part #37200-236-672.

Then again this is probably bigger than 3" wide, and it only goes to 100.

Could go with ones from the CL350's.  Not sure the actual diameter, has a neutral light and turn indicator in them.

Here's a pic:

I just bought a set of guages that came off of a 72 CL350 to put on my 76 550. Bought on ebay for 35 bucks after shipping, and they're in pretty good shape. They have a Nuetral light and a Signal light in the tachometer face, one of which could be used for oil I'm sure, just connect a different wire. I haven't mounted them yet because they mount differently than my stock 550 guages, so I'll have to get a mounting bracket off a 350 as well. I got the idea after meeting some guys with 350's at a vintage bike night and noticed that they're gauges looked exactly like mine and would be a much cheaper alternative to brand new "mini guages."
Ride it til it breaks, fix, repeat.
