Carb Tuner 5mm Brass Adapters?
« on: May 25, 2011, 03:44:27 PM »
I need to purchase Carb Tuner 5mm Brass Adapters for my Motion Pro Mercury manometer & 78 CB 750

I was wondering why the brass adapters come in two different sizes? 2 are short and the other 2 are long. I assume they don't just do this to make me more confused about carb syncing.  Do I need to use the shorter ones on specific carbs?

The long tubes are for the inner carbs, the short tubes for the outer carbs.

Take a few sections of brake-line tubing (cut to a suitable length) and thread one end with a 5mm die.  Your gauge hoses should slip over the other end just fine, and the threaded part (if not threaded too deep) will seal at the manifold inlet hole when seated lightly (otherwise try adding a bit of grease or a small O-ring).  This works great if you have the parts (brake line) and 5mm die already lying around in your well-used shop. ;)

u dont really need the long ones as your tank is off when you sync and if you havent eaten msg laden chinese take out and arent swolen to the gills, you can get your mits in there without burning yourself.
I got 4 of the motion pro rubber-capped 5mm adapters, and used the included paper washers so i could leave them in permanently.... makes a sync a snap...
