2005 Rev Tech Chopper

Was heading down the road, then the headlight kinda flickerd, the bike surged down in rpms...then back up again...then down again...like I was running outta gas except the light part. Now, I can't even throttle it down the street, I works perfect other wise 100%. But attempting to give it gas it was to kinda cut out and doesn't want to maintain RPMS....but doesn't wanna die, it hasn't died or come close to dieing once. It just kinda wants to idle (it'll rev, or try to rev, it's not a cable issue).

I will say, I can't tell ya why, but this does not feel or seem like a mechanical and/or gas issue, and seems 100% electrical. So, what shall I start looking @?

I have an idea, but don't wanna plant the seed.

Flippin A I hate electrical.
Thanx, discuss.

Just a hunch, maybe your spark advance?

You'll have to excuse my in-experience....but is that also referred as the Internal Ignition Modual?

If so, are you referring to it's settings or the unit as a whole itself being bad?

I didn't pay attention to the Rev Tech part.  However, it could be the module.  On a mechanical bike with a sticking spark advance, the bike will run fine at idle, but will not rev due to the fact that the spark will not advance.  I would talk to someone with more expertise, but the ignition module could be your problem.

Thanx for the responses so far. I hate electrical, if the $200 modual is what it takes, I don't have a problem with that, it's installing it and still do that so I'd like to verify ....
