Jet size for 4 into 1 exhaust and tuning
« on: February 27, 2017, 09:26:55 PM »
Hey Everyone, this is my first build, I own a 75 Honda CB750, I have so many questions and some of them are hard to trace through all the threads out there. One question I have is what gauge wire is used for the positive terminal on the battery? And 2, I have four into 1 exhaust thinking of just straight piping and was wondering about the jets? need a different size? I do have pods as well, I know that has to be taken into consideration. How do I tune them up properly?

I think the search function is still buggered here on the forums. So, the best way for you to search for some answers is to go to your browser search engine and type in FORUMS.SOHC4.NET JET SIZING TIPS this will get you started. I'm so glad I got here first and you didn't ask about oil.  :)

Rebuild the carbs, put the jet needle clips at the factory spots, factory jets (cleaned) and go from there.  The parts wear differently and compression/age will affect fueling to a large degree.  With stock airbox and 4-1 open exhaust I've had good results going up 1 or 2 main jet sizes and leaving the idle jets alone. Mixture screws turned out maybe 1/2 or 3/4 turn but that takes some tinkering with.
