worst speeding ticket on your honda 4 ?
« on: May 19, 2011, 09:54:33 PM »
i just got a speeding ticket on my 750 about a half hour ago
not only is it the worst one Ive ever gotten on a bike but its the worst Ive ever gotten in my life :'(

so lets hear it, whats your worst and how much did it cost you ?
I'm still in denial so I'm not gonna say what mine was yet but i will as soon as i come to grips with my stupidity

p.s. were you able to do anything to get your fine reduced?

The 350 doesn't have too much giddyup so no speeding tickets on the bike for me. And sice I started driving a car that I actually paid for (not my parents car), no speeding tickets there either.

My last one was about 250 bux. Doin 79 in a 55 and just gettin ready to slam 4th gear when i saw the moonlight reflecting on the lightbar. Coulda been worse, a mile down the road and he woulda clocked tripple digits.... 8)

Mine was 250 ,but the cop wrote the wrong actual speed limit on the ticket,so they knocked it down to 100,whew.doin 84 in a 70(cop claimed 84 in a 60)

on my 72 CB350, careless and reckless exceeding 85 mph.   couldn't call it speeding because it was an unopened unpaved highway.  cost me a month of shoe wear.
the neighbor town nabbed me.  forgot about them dang radios.   first cop out of the car said i was under arrest for eluding an officer. second cop was a neighbor and talked the first cop down.  he was just miffed cause he rode a bike and couldn't catch me. ;D  young and dumb.  no other excuse.

110 in a 70 (pre-55 speed limit: ca 1973). Cost $150 (in 1973 dollars) and a week of evenings in charm school watching crash films. Oh yeah, license probabation.

I got a 70 in a 55 in an old VW Rabbit. The sheriff was kind of surprised I didn't try to make an excuse. "Just felt like driving fast, yep you caught me."
Also got a 62 in a 50. Stupid sudden speed trap out in the country.

Haven't got any on the bike, but that just means I haven't been caught. The speedo goes to 85, but I've had it pegged and kept on accelerating past that, quite a few times.

Only speeding ticket I ever got on a bike was in '04 while tuning my cb500-4, a late nite run with no traffic on the road but me,and the cop of course.
was going so fast I didnt see the speed limit signs for the school zone, it was 4 am.
126 in a 15. $450 dollar fine and one yr without my license,$500 bucks to get the bike out of impound. :(

i thought the speed for school zones was time related too but the town I got the ticket in posted the speed at 15 in the school zone 24hrs a day.

and yes the cb500-4 will do better than 125 mph with some tuning.

is 126 in a 15 a typo?  School zone at 4 a.m.?  I thought they were only for certain hours?  I didn't even know a cb550 could do 126.

Nokrome I got one for 91mph (I think theres a big jump in $ at 90) last year.
I was able to talk to the court clerk and she took it down to $275.
I thought I heard somewhere they were going to stop doing that though.
It's worth a shot.
Good luck!

If we get caught (NSW Australia) doing more than 45km over the speed limit (about 28 miles I think) it is 6 months suspension of drivers licence and around $1850 fine.
I seem to do it most weekends early in the morning before the cops are out and have been lucky so far.
Also the cops where I ride are more than reasonable. On two seperate days I went past a cop with a radar doing around 15 -20km over the limit and both times they signaled slow down, but didn't pull me over.
Got to love decent (kind) cops

I've been pulled over three times on a sohc4.  First time was on my '75 400F in Eugene, OR.  I was on my way to the DMV to get the bike registered and got pulled over because I had the headlight turned off.  I turned it back on and he sent me on my way.

Second time was on my 750K1 in downtown Denver.  Somebody had stolen the registration sticker off of my license plate and I had failed to notice.  I showed the officer my proof of registration and he sent me on my way.

Third time was also on my 750K1 in Denver.  Got caught going 48 in a 35.  I think it cost me about 85 bucks and a couple of points on the license.  I didn't care.  It was a great day, I was on my way to hang out with my best friend of almost 20 years, and nothing was going to kill my mood.

yeah. that.

Haven't been stopped on a street bike, for some unknown reason. Got a handful of tickets for riding the MT in forbidden places.

Worst was 81 in a 55... shut up and sign the ticket and be glad he wasn't hiding a few miles back when the gauge said 95...
dumbass cop actually said something like 'Know what happens when you hit a deer going that fast?' .....

Wanted to say "Probably the same as if I hit one at 55 but with less time to scream.".

I got a $100 ticket for not having my motorcycle license when I got hit by a girl that couldn't see over the dash at a 4-way. That's right, I rode for years without a license. Don't pretend most of you didn't do the same thing. ;)

Not my SOHC4 but on my CB360T, I got two tickets in two days....by the same motorcycle cop! Talk about lightening striking twice.

Just got my endorsement friday man! Glad that's over. My cousin scared me into it. If you get pulled over in our state w/o a M/C endorsment, it's a $400 fine AND they tow your bike away so you can tack on another $200+. I think it was time well spent getting it.

75 in a 25 residential on my 350F.  He wrote me up for 55 since I pulled over in front of his parked patrol car.  He didn't even need to start the engine.  I stopped, shut off the engine, took off my helmet, turned and held out my hand to receive the ticket.  I think I went to traffic school for that one, back when it was free and conducted by an officer.
