CB550 Vacuum lines
« on: May 21, 2011, 09:10:49 AM »
Hey guys, I'm new to old school bikes, I just picked up a 1976 honda cb550.  The carbs were removed when I got it, I am just hoping someone can tell me where the 2 vacuum hoses that come out between the middle carbs connect to.  Also where do the 4 on the bottom of the carbs run to?   Thank you for any help!

all 6 hoses don't connect anywhere. They are just vents and overflows.
All glory to the hypno-toad.

As the previous poster indicated, two hoses between the center carbs are vent lines, for the "air space" above the fuel level in the bowls.  The lines should be routed down between the swingarm and the back of the engine block.

The four hoses coming off the bottom of the bowls are fuel drains, in case the fuel level rises above the top of the brass standpipes inside the bowls.  They should route down through the same space as the vents described above.
