Choke comes on when I accelerate and kills revs?

Hi All, just started riding my 77 550F after a cosmetic refurb, didn't strip down the carbs, and have found that when i accelerate hard the choke is being pulled on and killing the revs, i assume with the air dragging round the butterfly valves? Almost bought it the other day when overtaking....!

The mechanism doesnt seem too loose and the valves seem to be flat when choke is off. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought at first that i was hitting it with my leg but nope, its when i accelerate?

Is there an easy way to tighten the mechanism?

vibrations are probably pulling it down. you might want to check that you arent missing the ball & spring at the choke lever pivot.

Yes, there is supposed to be a spring loaded choke detent mechanism on Carb #1.

Someone bodged the cleaning/overhaul.
