Replacing a Petcock
« on: May 23, 2011, 12:34:04 PM »
Hi,

I have a gs 450 tank that I will be mounting on my CB550F. The petcock is a vacuum one, and the carbs I have are not. Also, the current petcock hangs a bit low right now. I would like some more clearance between my carbs and the petcock. So...... I was thinking of buying an adapter plate from here:

http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/suzuki/gs450/?filters%5Bprice%5D=50

And then buying a new, non vacuum, petcock.

Has anyone done this before? are there any recommendations or suggestions? Any feedback will be appreciated.

thanks

thinking of doing the same here, how did everything work out? or did it at all?
Its a little motor and it likes having the tits revved off it.

worked like a charm! no issues so far. you may want to upgrade the gasket, as the one that comes with the petcock I purchased is kind of cheap, but other than that, perfect!
