I'm ready to start my CB350 twin rebuild. Ordered all the oil seals and new parts to my dealer, but there was 4 o 5 items not available. They were in cmsnl.com, so i ordered them -until now I only used their webpage to check prices-.

The box arrived today. One of the parts was a gasket -missing in an aftermarket set I bought off e-bay-. The gasket I've received is the same "asbestos" type, with no indication of having been made by Honda. The inner valve springs came in original honda bags -old ones, with yellowed paper-, but the outer springs came together in another Honda, and maybe I'm getting paranoid, but the bases are scratched as if they had been used!!!! Grease nipples came together in another zip bag -all the bags with the CMS logo, not the Honda logo-. I don't know, I was used to the expensive Honda dealer with each single washer packed individually in a labelled bag. Have you had any experience with cmsnl.com?

Regards

Raul

  • "Damn! These HM300 Pipes Are Expensive!!!"
They usually are the genuine article, unless noted on the packaging. Most times the parts are individually wrapped in little Honda bags, but now and then they will put them in CMS packaging. The bag might have been damaged, who knows. I've gotten 5 orders from them and I've been very satisfied. The only thing that looked repro and was noted as such was a tach cable. It was all correct, so it didn't bother me.

Just got an order from them...all in Honda bags.  They have a lot
of hard to get parts that are priced accordingly.  David Silver has
some of the same parts...much cheaper.  Just compare the cost
of a set of pipes.   :o

Thanks for the update. I was counting on them for cases like mine: to get parts that my Honda dealer doesn't have. Shipping has been a little expensive -30 euro- as they have used UPS instead of regular mail. I've cross-checked prices with the Honda prices and they tend to be a little more expensive. It's like if they were buying the parts directly from Honda and reselling them.

My Honda dealer won't accept returns, so once you order the part you commit to buy. I can ask for prices beforehand every now and then, but they are the kind of shop generally busy and they don't like to waste the time connecting to the central database and writing down prices. So, what I do is check the prices in cmsnl.com before, and then I order the parts on the dealer knowing they will be a little cheaper. When I need the part I just replace them, but sometimes I replace good-looking parts only if a new one is available and cheap.

The problem with DSS for me is the shipping, Royal Mail is outrageously expensive. I recently won a body kit for my Suzuki GZ250 Marauder- Both mudguards, tank and sidecovers for 77 sterling pound. Shipping has been near 80 quid.

Thanks for the input. I've been thinking about ordering parts from cmsnl for a long time, sometimes I'm desperate enough to pay a higher price for hard to find parts than trying to dig bargains in ebay.

Hey, did anybody get a set of HM300 pipes from them? I was thinking about replacing my inaccurate HM341 pipes on one of my early CB750s. They had them on sale a while back that seemed cheaper than local price, even though they were bare units.

DSS has the HM300 pipes.  119 pounds each.  They are the Paragraph Pipes, but the paragraph is on the backside of the pipe and unnoticable when mounted.

Oh, that's right. I should've known, expecially since I'm in a military.

I am waiting to hear from someone who has ordered the pipes from
DSS.....I am on the verge of doing so, but I'm going with the HM341's
even though they are not correct for the sandcast. I think they last
longer.....and they're cheaper.  ;D

Jim - check out the other recent thread titled HM341 Exhausts, where I gave an account of my experience recently. Might help.

Seriously, GET THE 300s!!!!!!  They are correct for your model and will make more power and be louder.

I got my 400 pipes from DSS they came with the wrong clamps for the two down pipes that can be removed, other than that they are nice and the chrome is lush  8)

I've also had stuff from CMSNL that was Honda parts but not exacrly the same as the part I'm replacing example the rear footrest rubber section was longer than the original but not by much but they do look the same  :o
