Hello from Newcastle, Australia
« on: May 25, 2011, 08:20:42 PM »
Hi all,
Recently decided to acquire a more comfy steed than my Gsxr. I'm envious of my missus when we ride, as she's on the trusty VFR. So I racked my brain for the more comfortable bikes that I'd ever ridden.
Many years ago I rode a well beaten CB350 around Columbo in Sri Lanka and found it to be a dream of a bike. With that memory in mind I've tracked down my new ride. She's an orange 1974 CB550f. A little dirty and tired but the price was right, although a seven hour drive away. Lol. Hey always up for an adventure.
Plans are to get her registered and ride with a proud smile on my dial. She's polished up lovely, although missing side covers.
An engine rebuild is on the cards and I'm inspired by Fun Jimmy and his R6 front end conversion. That guy is a legend. What a bike!
Ok, enough prattle. Thanks for having me in your forum.
