Does anyone know why cruzinimage has quit shipping to Canada, UK, etc?  Have any fellow Canadians purchased anything from him recently?  Trying to contact him via ebay messaging system simply doesn't work.  Any help appreciated.  Cheers fellahs!

I am in Canada as well and saw a news article ~6 months back that said there have been ALOT of import/duty/ red tape fees placed on out of country shippers/Sellers to try force people to buy things local(canadian) or through a Canadian retailer. Lots of companies on Ebay simply stopped shipping to Canada as a result of the high fees they were paying.
Free Trade? I guess the definition of Free Trade isnt quite what we think!! :-\

Really sucks because these 836 kits are only available through cruzinimage, and the price is astonishingly good.

I would be willing to pay the import fees too, but just a matter of getting the communication going. I would rather the End user  have the option to pay the extra fees and still get the parts they desire for their project...

You need a member of the SOHC community to ship it to stateside and then re-ship it to you. That's what I would try(and hope to try myself when I get some $$ for my 750 project bike).

Sorry for the long post.

$130.00??!!  Seems like a great price for pistons/rings/pins and clips.  Are they any good?  If so I might buy a set for later.

I'm enjoying mine:

About 4000 miles on my 836 kit and they are working great!    I was planning on getting some of his CB450 pistons to refresh my sickly CB450 It appears that may be a problem now :(

This whole not shipping to Canada did happen before just before i bought my 836 kit and it seemed to resolve itself and he started shipping to Canada. I don't know about any new rules or fees or anything new for sellers selling to Canada or Buyers buying out of country. I will have to look into it a little further. I may also look into skirting the whole issue and getting a CDI box or whatever in the states and going across the border to pick parts up

Interesting about new fees if that's the case.  I do get some things shipped to Ship Happens in Sumas WA occasionally and then cross the border to pick them up, but I live about 11 hours from the border so I clearly try to avoid that situation... or wait for a buddy having to pick up his goods from there anyway.  At any rate, the situation is cramping my plans.

BTW, this 836 kit is still running strong in my 77A.  Decent stuff for the price.

I sent cruzinimage a message through ebay asking him to ship to Canada again.  It's been a few months and I never heard a reply, but he has changed his shipping to include Canada again which is great.  Now just waiting for him to get the 836 kits back in stock.

He might have changed his mind because of me.  On Monday I sent him an email asking why he stopped shipping to Canada as I have purchased from him before with no issues.  He said "go ahead and order and I will ship"  which I did and now he says the parts are on their way.

I've been told that a stock head gasket will work with these 836 pistons:

"The good news is the 836 kit uses a stock head gasket. I know this for certain. My 836 was built by ME and I have built others as well. It uses the stock liners so stock gasket works fine. My 836 kit was put in when my son was 6 months old.....he is now almost 30 and the motor has never been apart since!"

Is this accurate? Can I rely on using a regular head gasket or do I need to get an 836 head gasket?

I also sent a message asking why he wasnt shipping to Canada. I also sent a link to show our postal strike crap is over and settled. Oh well its a good outcome now us canucks can order away eh.

I know that any 836 piston I tried would not fit through a stock gasket opening. Dont know that it has to but I would think the gasket would be slightly exposed in the cylinder.  I would doubt it but you should ask this question on the main tech page.

Nope, there's no way you can get a 65mm piston thru a 63mm hole. You see, the stock gasket was designed to accept the stock 61mm pistons with up to 4 x 0.25mm oversizes, plus another 1mm for clearance (+/-) but once again, you can'd put a 65mm (836cc) piston thru a 2mm smaller hole. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Any idea when these are going to be back on the market?

Never mind, I just found them. I guess I didn't look hard enough.

And then there's this Wiseco 836cc kit on Ebay now for US$105
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321573617794?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true

I got mildly excited until I read further down where it says this is the kit for just one piston, not four.

What's the deal with these pistons...are they cast? Can you run a Webcam 341a with them or is there a better recommendation? Compression ratio is only 9.?:1? Should I splurge on Wiseco forged ones instead?
Also, I've bought things from him in the past few months and they were shipped to Canada no problem but now this listing says no shipping to Canada??

I'm considering his small re bore kit for my diecast engine. Then again, I have an old high compression 812 kit with a damaged cylinder block, maybe I can do a liner swap.

My new JE pistons spec 0.0025"  http://www.dynoman.net/engine/pistons/piston-install/71_25mmSOHC.pdf
Same with JE 836 http://www.dynoman.net/engine/pistons/piston-install/65mmSOHC.pdf
Different alloys?

Pretty much mate. Cast pistons don't expand as much as forged pistons, so need tighter clearances. ;D
