Yea you send him the pistons too, and he fit/marked a certain piston to each cylinder, and filed the ring ends to fit properly. probably took 3 weeks but i don't remember, and i wasn't in a hurry. He did a great job and everything was packaged nicely. just make sure to specify the bore gap, etc.

Yes. Get the head milled about 0.010" in the process, too, and the final compression comes out to about 9.4:1.

I've got the suggested piston/cylinder clearance, now What should the piston ring end gaps be? And are the ring gaps all the same? Is the top ring sometimes gapped wider?

Use 0.002"-.003" more than stock ring specs.

Anyone have experience ordering these kits? Specifically with any import fees, taxes, custom charges etc. I'm just wondering if duties end up costing as much as the product.

Many of us have ordered them, as you can see in this thread, you just pay shipping, which is listed on the listing.

I got mine in about a week, They are a bit sharp on the edges, exactly as everyone described. From the way they were packed and others experiences I'd say two ship better than one. The double cardboard on the gaskets supports them and the 8 boxed pistons are about the same size as the gaskets.

I know Hondaman has rebuilt motors with them. But I am more interested in the owner of the rebuilt motor and how they have held up.

There's some of those out there now 3 years, no issues. One engine which I was involved with, but did not build myself (cam replacement only) has the stock engine studs in it, not HD studs, and it is leaking some oil at the head gasket. I recommend the extra torque (20 ft-lbs) and those HD studs, for sure.

With this 836 kit do the pistons have enough valve relief area to run a high lift cam?

If so,how high of a lift/long duration will it accommodate?

Are the crowns thick enough to flycut them if need be?

Some recent builds have had the piston tops end up .007 to .012 above the deck. A simple shim under the cylinders can adjust dech heigth and to a point might help valve clearance. I'm running a, F2 cam and haven't hurt it yet. that's all I know about cam clearance. According to some I have enough, not all agree on the clearance needed.

If you have to cut a low dome piston, chances are very little has to come off, and you might be able to do it yourself..

Well, I added the 836 kit ported the head and added the cam all at once so I can't say how much is the cam but I seriously love the torque. It accelerates faster at lower rpm's. Even with the 18/48 sprockets. I find I don't rev it as tight which is a good thing.
