Topic: CB 500T gas tank?

Will a gas tank from a CB550T (Twin) fit a 550 frame?  Are the dimensions the same or are they shorter and narrower?  Are the tunnels the same size?

                       What is a CB550T? I've heard of a CB550K, and a CB550F but, Not a CB550T. Are we taliking early SOHC 550 or the later model?


                        I guess you're talking about a CB500T gas tank. I may be wrong but, I don't think it will. It might, with some work. After all, with some work, almost anything can be accomplished.

Yeah, I meant 500T.  typo... its corrected.  Thanks for the info.

Check out this post (I'm not sure how to set the link). It compares the 500T to the 350F. I would guess that you need the same or more clearance on the 550. There is quite a bit of work to make it fit over the carbs and coils.

Here are the two tanks side by side. The 500T is on the left. Its narrowest point is near the center at about 3.5 inches. The 350F has its narrowest point near the front. It widens to about 7.5 inches to clear the coils and carbs.
