throttle and clutch cable length
« on: May 26, 2011, 03:35:23 AM »
PO owner of my 750KO has changed a few things, different bars which I like but shorter length and less rise makes factory throttle cable and clutch cable to long. Other then trying to go back to factory bars whats the best way to get the right length aftermarket cables and from where? Z1 Enterprizes maybe. My current throttle cable is roughly 40" Also carbs on bike are the newer type with the push, pull two cable system the same as on my 750K6. Of course the throttle control on the KO is designed for only one cable so I must run one cable even though carbs are set up for two. Is it safe to just run one cable? Has anyone else run into this same problem?

thanks dhall

Why not change the throttle pipe to the two cable.

I'm with bollingball.  Swap out the throttle housing and tube and get a second cable on there.  No problem.

As for custom length cables, I know Motion Pro makes them to order and they aren't THAT expensive.  The other option is to cut yours down and braze on a new brass end.  I have no experience with it, but that's my fall back plan if I can't get exactly what I want.
