I am planning on buying this UNI air filter: [http://stores.rustyriders.net/-strse-402/NU-dsh-4055-Uni-Filter-for/Detail.bok]

A couple of quick questions:

1) If I buy and install this will I need to make any adjustments in my carbs? I plan on cleaning the carbs around the same time I install the air filter but I was wondering if they would need tweaked at all as far as different sized jets, etc..

2) What's the advantage of having this filter rather than an OEM filter?

3) Do I need to also purchase oil specifically for air filters or will general oil that I can find at Advanced Auto work? I had a 2-stroke last year and just used regular 2-stroke oil on it's filter.

Thanks

If the exhaust is stock, no re-jetting was needed on my Cb550F models.

I did the UNI Nu-4055 for economy.  Stock paper filter was $50 and needs replacement yearly.

The uni is cleaned and reused.  One lasted 15 years before the foam began to crumble.  Which is why you should use the UNI filter recharger kit.  Both the cleaner and the oil in the kit is compatible with the foam so it will last a good long while.  Some oil additives and cleaners can attack the foam an lead to earlier replacement.
