Harley help.......82? fxe
« on: May 23, 2011, 09:14:56 PM »
Working on a buddys harley.  He was having some trouble adjusting his pushrods. Something just didnt seem right. Was at TDC when adjusting the #1 pushrods. We couldnt get them dialed in.  I watched the piston, and it had a little bit more movement until it hit TDC (5-10 degrees past TDC)

Not really sure what's going on. The alignment marks on the cam/crank gear is all lined up.  Anyone got more experience with these motors? Cause I have zero

as its coming up to tdc watch the inlet rod close, then line up your marks, you might have to rotate a further 180.

It wont be 180 difference.

Mark on flywheels should be right, but I think there is 2 marks, one for advance and one for TDC.. might be a line and a funny symbol.
An online search should get a quick answer.

sounds like its on the rock(both valves open),in which case turning 180 will get you where your going.
