Music to my ears and a tear in my eye
« on: May 31, 2011, 05:12:36 PM »
I have been waiting three weeks for my cb400f exhaust gaskets to arrive. All the while, starting the bike for short stints, listening to the horrible sound of twenty push mowers. Well, today they arrived. TODAY THEY ARRIVED!! I ran to the garage and quickly put in the new gaskets and grabbed my original 4 into 1 exhaust. I went as quickly as possible to tighten on each of the eight bolts, being sure not to over tighten or misplace a washer. I stood back and looked at the sweeping pipes and took a deep breath, turned the petcock on, and pushed the start button...nothing. Then I remembered that I didn't put the battery back in. By this point I was more excited than a virgin nerd on prom night. I quickly put the battery in and hit the button...Wow. I am still in awe at the sound of this bike. From twenty push mowers to a symphony of perfectly orchestrated rumbles. I may be biased, but the 400f has to be one of, if not the best sounding sohc on the planet. Anyway, I sat and listened for a good five minutes, and then put her to bed. Nothing left but some brake bleeding, a taillight, and an inspection sticker to go. By Friday I should have my first riding report of the season.  :P

My local Honda shop if not in stock gets them in three days.
Glad you got to hear it :D

Yeah, my Honda shop is about an hour away so I do most of my ordering online. :)
