Flasher question, confused.........
« on: June 30, 2011, 07:58:40 AM »
Just picked up a '72 CL350 Scrambler.  Gorgeous condition.  Bought it for a song.  I'm having a strange problem though.  All of the sudden the right blinker stopped flashing consistently.  The light will stay on for a few seconds, blink once, then repeat.  Sometimes it won't blink at all.  The left one works flawlessly.  Are the flasher circuits isolated between left and right?  Am I just up against buying a new flasher?

Thanks.

First, beautiful bike. I would love to own one like that. Second, wrong forum, this is the SOHC4 section. Third, you need to replace the flasher unit.

My 550 did the same thing. I installed a modern electronic flasher that I got from Advance Auto Parts, and problem solved, the signals flash fjust fine.

Ok, that's what I figured.  Yeah, I was wondering if I should post on this forum, but there are so many CB guys on here, I figured someone would chime in, so thanks.

I've never seen a question ignored just because it was the wrong Honda, but there is another board farther down the list for other bikes. Lots of the SOHC4 owners are like you and have twins too.

if all your others work, then its prob not the flasher relay.
get in there and clean the connections, ground, and bulb receptacle.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.  Both front and rear on the right side don't work.  Both on the left DO work.

My 750's  left blinker got finiky I tightened up the left front light and it was better for a while then quit again. Then both quit. New flasher all is good.

Flasher is good as one side works.. Check for 12v at the blue wire in the h/l shell.  If not there, you have a bad switch. If 12v is there ,check for 12v at the rear t/s blue wire.  If there, check bulbs.  If good, check sockets and t/s stems and green ground wires for corrosion...Larry
