speedometer ratio question
« on: May 27, 2011, 06:47:36 AM »
I have read and searched but I just have a headache now from all the different answers I have found.  I have a 1977 Honda cb550k bobber that has an size 18 tire on the back and a 19 tire on the front.  I am looking for some aftermarket mini speedometers and possibly a tach for this.  What are the Ratios I need to make this as accurate as possible?  Also does anyone know where I can find some neat looking gauges?  I like the ones on Cycyle ReCycle so far, but I am always shopping around for the right thing for my bike...thanks!

The speedo you need is a 2240:60.  Tach is 1:7.  This stands true for all 500 and 550.

Dimecitycycles.com has some cool gauges at about the best price you can find.
