Anybody know of a 12 V AGM battery, that is the same size or smaller than standard 12N12A-4A-1, and has the same post polarity orientation.

TT

Mikes XS sells AGM batterys that will fit the CB550 perfectly.

I didn't have any luck with the 4 cell packs, but then again my motor has never been fired. .......until tonight when I installed the new battery that made it here in ONE day from California! It took a few turns to get it going since I flush the carbs with a little carb cleaner before adding gas. Didn't hesitate a bit! My battery is the same capacity as ffjmoore's. Nice to hear the 850 roar to life!!

The temperatures in the starter recess would cook a battery to death in a very short time, like a couple of months!!! I wouldn't recommend it.
BTW, I am quite happy with the 4-cell pack I bought from a forum member. ;D
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

I agree with scottly, good idea in principle, but too high ambient temperature in there for sure!
