glad to hear your doing well
best wishes for your dad too
any good mopar stories?

          Thanks, for that Tramp.

Well, the main things happening, for now, have to do with the Charger. Had an interesting thing happen just a couple of days ago.

I was here at the house and noticed a cop puled up in front of my house and parked in the street. When he got out, I went out to see what he was up to. He let me know right away, that this was a social call. I have had a few run ins out on hwy71 and wondered if the visit had anything to do with that. Anyway, we talked just a bit, about Mopars and then he asked me if I knew how much a '58 Chrysler 392 Hemi was worth. Come to find out, HE had gotten a deal on one (complete engine) and was looking to see what he could get out of it. Well, I told him that I had NO IDEA what one was worth, just that it would be incredibly high! Then, he asked about the car under the cover and I showed him the '69 GTX and when I started the thing up, his eyes lit up. LOL, that ol' 440 has a way of doing that.  Just before the guy left (we talked for quite a while), he told me that in anyone asked, I had asked him to check out some stray dogs in the neighborhood. LOL!

About a couple of weeks ago, I was coming home from Fort Smith and had a Pontiac G8 GT try to give me some problems and I think he has a different outlook now, cause I put him down and I hear that those are a pretty good match for my car and usually beat the Chargers. But, not this time. I'm learning about more of the competition and about cars like the G8s and the meaner version that is more for the Charger SRT8 to deal with, than the R/T.

Hope things are well with you  and that you have a Great Weekend! Bill

Bill,  this is a club and for the most part the members stick together. You have had quite a load to tote, but you got through it and what more can be asked of a man. In this neck of the woods the hot Mopars would outrun the GMs. Got my eye on a new Charger R/T when the lease on my Lincoln is up. You only go around once my brother and you may as well enjoy it.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Hey Bobby, good to hear from you. I'll tell you, sure had no idea about what was coming up for me, but I knew I had to take care of my Dad, in THAT instance and "BE There" for my Daughter, when Brenda's time came. Lord knows it hasn't been easy and I've always heard that he won't put more on you than you can handle. I have to say that there have been times when I wondered if he had forgotten who he was dealing with. But I knew he knew exactly who he was dealing with. You ALL helped me more than you will ever know and I'm grateful for that. ;)

Be cool to see you sporting a Charger R/T Bobby. That's what mine is, only an '07 model. Made a few changes to it though and it IS a blast to drive. Never thought I could go for a "4dr" Charger, but a test drive won me over. Like to hear about the one you are talking about and see some pictures, when you go for it too. The thing I lie is, it has Power, Speed, Handling (full independent REAR suspension), comfort and (if I could keep my foot off the accelerator) is capable of getting the same MPG as the '06 Grand Caravan that I traded in for it (MDS - Multiple Displacement System) and the minivan had a 3.8 V6 vs the 5.7L HEMI V8 the Charger has. I could Not believe the acceleration that MY car has. And, the way the 5.7 runs, I can only imagine the performance of the 6.1 or even the new 6.4!

Sure don't blame you a bit, for having and not wanting to get rid of THAT one! Like to see picture(s) of yours. I've got a close friend here in Greenwood, who has this one.
