Question about Blackberry phones
« on: June 29, 2011, 08:22:48 AM »
I don't know the phone model, but my son-in-law has a Blackberry that is perhaps 3 years old. Can anyone tell me if this phone is likely to have a WiFi hot spot application? My Palm, which is 2-3 years hold has one.

Edit: May have sound some info. Located a Blackberry document introducing the WiFi capbility. The document was dated 2008.

The last 3 models of blackberry that I've used have all had WIFI....... just kind of depends on the exact model.

Curve, Bold, Torch all had wifi.... the 8820 didn't

This is what my son-in-law found and set-up. When you say they can cancel you, it it because of the use of an unauthorized app? Considering RIM's troubles of late, this would/should be the least of their problems.

It's the service provider who can cancel your service.  It has nothing to do with RIM.
