SS screw kit with phillips heads
« on: October 06, 2012, 01:20:28 PM »
Anyone selling one?  I've only seen allen sets, definitely more functional but I don't want to depart from the stock look.  Phillips would've been fine if honda hadn't used lead (apparently).  Thanks

Have you tried ebay? I believe I've seen replacement bolt kits (as opposed to allen kits). If not, get on McMaster Carr and order the bolts you need.

Am I thinking wrong to try a new set of Allen bolts and a re torque the Cylinder Head Cover for a slight Oil Leak?

Its alright if you are retorqueing them not just getting ham fisted and trying to get it as tight as possible.

Sorry to revive an old thread.  One more check to see if anyone knows of any other options?  The site posted is the only set I've seen (thanks for posting that brewsky) but wondering if I can beat the $55 for a stainless set.

Have you called Mid States? The screws are 6mm of various lengths, 30-55mm.

Go to www.boltdepot.com.  You have to know the diameter, lengths and number of each you need.  You can get the info from the parts manual.

Rimfire also shows mild steel versions, which I believe are zinc plated, for less.
Actually they are supposed to be less corrosive than stainless when used in the engine case application.
Most bolt places can get the 6mm phillips heads, but the head diameters are 12 mm instead of the oem 10mm.
I found some at my local dealer in stock.
